Ahu Dural’s work mainly implies drawing, sculpture and collage. She varies elements of her visual vocabulary in a repetitive manner in large-scale space installations. The movement of ones view is an important aspect for her. Building reference points within a specific space or referring to certain images from female interior design have been distinguished points of her work lately. The relationship between physical scale and perspective is orchestrated in the space through abstract designs. An interplay between two - and three dimensional elements forms tension between her objects and images. Simultaneity and the repetition of different modes of presentation is the attempt to overwrite and rewrite references. Gender - analytical approaches of design and architecture theory and identity politics (cultural identity) form a theoretical basis for the german-turkish artist.
